Happy Summer 2014

Hello there fellow bloggers and whoever else may be reading this!!

I hope that all of you are having a fantastic summer.  For those of you who summer is coming to a close calendar wise, I hope that you are looking forward to heading back to school, or whatever else may be coming your way.  

It’s funny that I must say calendar wise.  Even though some people consider August the beginning of Autumn, it most definitely isn’t.  It is still VERY HOT here in Florida and in other parts of the world who are experiencing summer right now.  So it is still summer!  

However it is back to school time.
It is so bizarre to me still how school starts so early in August.  I remember when I was just starting school we didn’t begin until September, and we were done around the first week of May.  Now people go to school from the beginning of August all the way to the end of May, sometimes even the beginning of June!  It is crazy to me.

I began the first leg of a semester of online classes today.  I am taking two classes.  One is an Intro to Spanish class, and the other is an Intro to Public Relations.  Both of which I am super excited to be apart of.  

Living in Orlando surrounds me with a lot of Spanish speaking individuals.  Sometimes it is so frustrating when I want to be able to communicate with someone who can’t speak English very well, but am unable to because I don’t speak the language fluently.  I know a lot about Spanish and some things I can say, but it has been awhile since I took a full on course about it, so I am looking forward to it.

Public Relations has been something that I have always been interested in.  Being a journalism student, and loving people makes it a great classes to gain some more knowledge in the subject.  So I am very much looking forward to what I will take away from this class as well??

Since this became a post more about school I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Do we go to school too much?  Should school years be shorter or longer?  Do we live in a day, time, and culture where it is better to get more schooling?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Also be on the lookout for more coming from MIX IT UP very soon!!  Things have been a little wild for me and Alexis so time has not allowed us a chance to do a show in awhile, but we will be back soon!!

So I am so thrilled that it is finally November.  I think that October, November and December are my top three favorite months in the year.  They are my favorite for several reasons.  Probably three.  I love the look of the world, in October and November we have those “colors of fall” which are so gorgeous.  Then the look of Christmas is part of this but we will wait until December to talk about all that.

The second probably is how the weather is starting to turn colder and it is all just wonderful to me.

Then of course the three big holidays.  Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  One in each month that brings family and friends together to spend time and just flat out have a good time.

I think that the season of Fall is always VERY significant to me.  It is the time of the year where to me you see the most change in the world as far as environment, for some a new school year where things are different.  Better movies are always out this time of the year getting ready for the Oscars.  I always seem to go through the most changes in life of the year during the fall months.  ESPECIALLY this year.  So much had changed and is different now than it was just a couple of months ago in the summer.

I love that line in the Jordin Sparks song “No Parade” that says, “Changes come but where they go you never know”  It is so true.  I would have never thought just two months ago that I would be where I am now.  It is such a perfect example of how things can change so fast in the blink of an eye.

But I think that it is all about how you take the change.  What I always try to do and what I encourage others to do is to always move forward.  We don’t have a very long time here before it is all over.  So by God make the most of it.  Live each day like it was your last one because you never know when that will be.

So in the words of the new Carrie Underwood song that was released on her album today – PLAY ON!!!!

New Autumn Layout

Today is the first day of Autumn or Fall whatever you like to call it.  So it was time for a new layout and color scheme.  I had a hard time choosing a layout for this because I wasn’t sure that any of the available ones looked like Autumn, so I went with the grey look and added the photo in the header.

Let me know if you like it for now.  I don’t really like it.  haha, but it will only be like this for two months, then I will change it once December gets here.  In the meantime I will keep searching and see if I can find one that I like better.  But I think this works for now.  I would have preferred not to have a grey background, but the photo makes it a lot better so…

This is one of those times where I wish that I knew how to make my own layout, so that it could be more like what I want, but until then, this will have to work. 🙂
